Grace
Church at Hermitage is a local mission with its inception in January of
2007. Ministering biblical truth to
the community is a wonderful privilege and a work that is already prepared by
God.
Jesus said to them, "My food is to
do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. Do you not say,
'There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up
your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. Already the one who
reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower
and reaper may rejoice together. For here the saying holds true, 'One sows and
another reaps.' I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others
have labored, and you have entered into their labor."

The
power of evangelism is the Gospel….God’s Gospel.Everyone that is known by Christ, should be
able to tell the world why and demonstrate its power through disciplined lives…..that
is the testimony of a true evangelistic church!
Romans 1:16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is
the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and
also to the Greek.
Educational Philosophy
Chris believes it is important to pursue a “persistent”educational philosophy.Learning and understanding biblical doctrine
is dependent upon the leading and power of the Holy Spirit. The development of knowledge is then pursued for
the glory of God and the edification of the church. Chris is convinced that“to be approved without being
ashamed”, ……(as spoken by the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul’s
first letter to Timothy),…. is truly
the aim and goal of acquiring
knowledge. It is important to continue a
pursuit of life-long learning.
2 Timothy 1:8Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony
about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel
by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because
of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in
Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through
the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life
and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was appointed a
preacher and apostle and teacher,which
is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed,
and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been
entrusted to me. Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from
me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit
entrusted to you./ esv
2 Timothy 2:15Study to show thyself approved
unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. / kjv
Education serves to
assist in the gift of preaching and teaching which is established by the Holy
Spirit.Scripture is clear on the
qualifications of a man of God.Paul’s
letters to Timothy and Titus give the church an accurate description of the
qualifications of the Pastor.With that
in mind, please find included a brief outline of Chris’s educational background
and continuing training to preach and teach the Gospel of God.
